Rin Kagamine, The Vocaloid Princess

Seriously speaking, this is the last form of music I thought I would appreciate. But strangely enough, the high-pitch squeaking of this alien princess is ringing in my head this minute now. And it is going to stay for a while. No kidding, she is that addictive. I like her last stretched 'Yaa' the best.

No idea what I'm babbling about. Play the video.

Basically it's about stretching the human voice to unimaginable ranges using advanced technology only Japanese bother to create. Then market the product with a virtual identity which not only promises abundant male audiences but also ensure no sexual harassment :)

I have to admit. I'm amused.

Tell me more about Vocaloid

Rin Kagamine and her sisters

Interested to hear more? thanks to Hana neko

More marvellous renditions of the song :)

on electric violin

i'm in love with 30 Seconds to Mars recently

now i finally got the meaning of what alternative rock music is. to be able to take this genre, you must survive angst screaming, heart-throbing complicated sound mix and a whole bunch of freakishly gorgeous-looking homosapiens. that is exactly what i like.

i remembered i caught 'the kill' on radio just once and fell in love with it. i din even know what that title was called and it was only much later did i learn about 30 seconds to mars. not to mention getting confused over 30 seconds to mars or from mars? haha

Jared Leto was an actor, and still is one, when he formed 30 with his brother Shannon Leto. i first learned of Jared when he co-starred as Hephaistion with Colin Farrell (i totally love this guy too!) in Alexander. from there, i learned he was the lead singer of 30 and this fact totally freaked me out! not only was he gorgeous looking, he sings / screams excellently well! his talent extented to direction for the videos 'the kill', 'from yesterday' and 'a beautiful lie'...which are quite uniquely tasted.

the concept of twin self? very strange but i love it! jared is fat here haha

'on his face is a map of the world'...the fireworks' great and really like the red streaked hair Jared ^^

thanks for the reminder...follow your dreams...what a great video with a meaningful message.

i'm so definitely going to grab their albums and really looking forward to their third!

my colleagues just told me i won an ipod shuffle! hurray!

The first song I wanted to translate

Before I started learning Japanese, this is the first song that I had always wondered what it was singing about. Very simple song but not sure if my translation is accurate >.<

Miniature Garden - Kasha

In the small palm there is a small box
There lies and presents a small dream

Before forgetting please try to recall
That I was once held within your arms
This sky is too wide and too green that it become scary
This sky is too high for me

Where is this star? It must be somewhere right?
About what I do not know is where I am not

I already do not want to be here anymore. I already wanted to disappear completely
Just like the falling star that is falling to nowhere
Do not end this song
Do not let this dream end

Do not just hug my body hug all my feelings
If this sky is to end someday do bring me with you
I want to know the eternity ando become eternity
I wished to become conscious
Shaken and scared inside your box
Why is the promise not being realized?
In this small world…

L'arc-en-Ciel 15th Anniversary Concert -- Seriously Good!

It was only few hours ago that I caught the first glimpse of L'arc-en-Ciel 15th Anniversary Concert and I can't wait to just write something about it >.< *that was 2 days ago* haha was too tied up in work to write something about it.

About the first impression....

The package is gorgeous! Especially that ribbon thingie. Not to mention the postcards!!! Each postcard symbolises the album released and the era Laruku had gone through. It was a total 'Capture in Time'. The designs were intricate that each piece has a customised illustration at the 'Affix Stamp' area! However, I'm still puzzled why the theme of 'Ants and Stawberry' was chosen >.<

the hard cover book like shell ^^ so classy...did Hyde give this idea?
i love the ribbon!

the contents! love the fact that it comes with a protective slip in cover ^^ the fonts are most appropriate too!

So much to anticipate!...the slick black and red strawberry and the wonderful illustrations round it ...so my liking!

ahhhhhh.............*just melted*

some more to share ^^ but not all

back of the postcard ^^ look at the deer logo at the position to affix stamp ^^ each piece has a different illustration ^^ just like i say, who the hell would want to affix anything there ?! ^^

the commendations to those who had made the 15th anniversary dvd possible ^^ even this is wonderful

WAH! It's a worthy investment of $100 plus! >.<

About the substance....

The opening was superd! I did not become a fan because of 'the Fourth Avenue Cafe' but I was totally shaken after hearing it here! Hyde was really giving his all!

In fact the first 4 songs were ones that i seldom listen to but dawned on me thereafter that those were exactly what made laruku laruku. Very signature tunes that even today are never boring. Forgive me but i was inducted into l'arc with Pieces ^^ so i was not an indie-laruku fan ^^ I thought Lies and Truth was the best  performed out of the first 4 tracks.

Up till this point, the song that shaken me most was White Feathers. I have been in love with this song for as long as i remember. The way Hyde intonate the ranges, it was 神ような. Here, the surreal feeling was elevated with the fanfare of visuals at the perfect timing...you have to watch it to be touched yourself...

Something to note, they slowed down the rhythm for White Feathers and あなた and there was the Stay Away dance display. Huh! this was hilarious!

Trick being the last track on disc 1 ends the first 81 mins with an element of surprise. Tetsu, Ken and Yukihiro each got to sing a line or two for this song before Hyde took over the rest. I'm not trying to belittle anyone here, but just can they just let Hyde do the singing? Hee ^^" Seriously I thought it sounded like whining...especially yuki haha!

I like disc 1 better than 2 as I thought the mood in disc 2 was so high by then that Hyde forgot to switch off his 'hard-rocking' mode in 叙情詩, Pieces, 瞳の住人 .... did not sound as good as i anticipated for these tracks. Though i still love them after hearing a few times ^^

There is something I definitely need to mention. The first track in disc 2 is a song made up of snippets of 8 laruku songs. The hilarious thing was Hyde had Sadako conjuring behind him after the song finale! >.< the audience was appalled by the sight! haha!

Ok now to Dune. It was jaw-dropping. Hyde was wearing that indie long blouse. The one that he appear like a girl with long pony tail. The image was so strong that i could still recall. He does not seem to have outlive those days. I thought somehow he still reminisces that period of time...well whose without a past. He was hovering around Yukihiro quite some many times...was he thinking of Sakura?..opps

The way they introduce Bye Bye here was @%&%*# ^^" ....a blur vision L'arc-turn instead of Youtube...was the message..stop piracy?

In conclusion, this darling definitely deserved my 2 thumbs up ^^

oh ya, they talked in between intervals ^^ I really like ken's speech which he said he was experiencing time slip then. 'Shinjitenai? Then go outside. The time outside is half of that inside.' haha so hilarious ^^
